Post Exam Results
Upload exam results in bulk using CSV files or use the Quick Create feature for manual entry. The system automatically calculates grades using the KNEC grading system.
Option 1: Bulk Upload (CSV)
Step 1: Fill Exam Metadata
Enter the following information about the exam:

Step 2: Prepare Your CSV File
Create a CSV file with the following format:

- • First row must be headers:
admission_number,score,remarks - • Admission numbers must match existing students
- • Scores must be numeric and not exceed total marks
- • Remarks are optional but recommended
Step 3: Upload and Validate
Drag and drop your CSV file into the upload area. The system will validate the data and show any errors before saving.
Option 2: Quick Create (Manual Entry)
If you don't have a CSV file ready, you can use the Quick Create feature to set up an exam and enter scores manually later.
How it Works
- Select "Quick Create" mode on the Post Results page.
- Fill in the exam details (Subject, Class, Term, etc.).
- Click "Create Exam".
- You will be redirected to the View Results page.
- The system automatically populates the grid with all students in the class.
- Enter scores directly into the grid.
Best For
Quick Create is ideal for:
- Small classes
- Entering scores as you mark papers
- When you don't have a spreadsheet ready
- Click "Choose File" and select your CSV
- The system validates all entries automatically
- Review any warnings or errors displayed
Validation Checks
- Missing Students - Warns if admission numbers aren't in the database
- Class Mismatch - Alerts if student isn't in the selected class
- Invalid Scores - Flags scores exceeding total marks
- Duplicate Entries - Prevents duplicate student results
Step 4: Submit Results
After validation:
- Review the preview table showing all results
- Verify grades are calculated correctly
- Click "Upload Results" to submit
- Receive confirmation message
Automatic Grade Calculation
Grades are calculated automatically using the KNEC system:

Common Issues
"Student not found"
The admission number doesn't exist in the database. Verify the student is registered and approved.
"Score exceeds total marks"
A student's score is higher than the total marks. Check your CSV for typos.
"Duplicate exam entry"
An exam with the same title, subject, term, and year already exists. Edit the existing exam instead.
